Hi All,

I'm a PR and want to invite my sister in-law to visit us in the summer. I have a couple of questions:

1- Who should write the invitation letter? My wife or I, I'm the more financial stable.
2- My sister in-law is financially stable working in a different country from the country of citizenship, she will be leaving her husband behind. How to show the strong ties to country of residence?
3- She has an active express entry profile for PR, how does it affect her chances for a visitor visa?

Appreciate all of your replies. Thanks.

1. Whichever one of you is willing to show their bank documents, employment and PR status in Canada, property, etc. If you're willing to provide all those, great; otherwise, your wife can do those. Your SIL will also be asked to provide proof of relationship to the inviter, so you can consider that too in your decision.
2. Her certificate of employment in the country of residence, approved leave from the company spanning her time in Canada, bank accounts, financial assets, properties, marriage contract, husband's status there.
3. None at all.

Since you've recently gone through the process, think of it as a PR application lite.
