Hello everyone, I am a PR of 3 yrs and my wife is a Canadian citizen and would like to invite my parents for 1 month as they are eager to see their grandson and attend his 1st birthday. My father has been retired from personal business 8 yrs ago and invested most of his savings into a property few yrs ago and my mom is a homemaker. I will be mentioning in my invitation letter that I will be bearing all the expenses for their trip and attach all my financial docs.My question is since my parents have a not so strong savings, should I mention that I will be paying for their airfares too (which I will be)so they won't even have to even touch their savings? And also should the invitation be from both me and my wife , since we both work hence showing a stronger financial background.

Thanks for your help!

Hi,

The greater the financial dependence of your parents on yourself/your wife, the lower the chances of getting approved.

1. Do your parents have investments like bank term deposits, pension funds, shares, etc?

2. Do they earn any rental income?

3. Have they mortgaged the property?

Cheers
