Hello,

I applied for Visitor Visa for my parents and they both got it for one year only valid till Jan-2016. However, I was expecting for a 10 year visitor visa.

Unfortunately, my parents wont be able to come this year. I was hoping for a 10 year visitor visa but CIC gave only for a year.

My question is that if they reapply for visitor visa next time, will they get the visitor visa or not if they don't make a visit to Canada this time.

In short, if someone don't make a visit to Canada till their Visitor Visa is valid and when they reapply next time, will they be issued visitor visa again or not?

Senior Members, please provide your expert guidance.

Thank you.

Hi,

Your parents new TRVs will depend on the documentation, evidence, circumstances, etc. when they apply the next time.

Whether to grant a visa or not + the length of the visa depends on the assessment made by the visa officer. If the applicant has strong ties to home country + applicant's circumstances (for eg: may have to visit Canada again)..... then greater the chance of a longer duration visa.

Your parents can give an explanation why they were unable to travel on the current visa.

All the best :)

Hi Chitrang,

I have a quick question.

My parents applied for visitors visa from Mumbai via vfs. They applied on January 30, 2015. Their file is sent for processing at Bangalore visa office and there is no update since then.

Can you please share the info as to where your parents applied visa from, which city was it sent to for processing and how long did it take.

Thanks,
