Visitor visa for parent

Hello,

I am planning to apply for visitor.visa for my mother in India. She has been to Canada before but her passport and visitor visa expired recently so need to reapply. She has got biometric appointment for Nov. 30th.
Does anyone know what is current processing time? Is it true that it takes about 6 to 7 months for visitor visa? Is it possible to get a near date for biometrics?

No it is taking from weeks to around 2 months for most cases.
