Hi,

This is Sridhar. I am a PR of Canada. But, currently i am working in India (I have been away from Canada for 2 years now and i will be moving back to Canada, next month.). My PR is still in a valid state.

Now, when i come to Canada next month, i would like to get visitor visa for my wife and daughter. Is it possible?

At present, my wife is not working. But, she got a job in India, which she will be joining next month. Getting a long leave from her employer is not a big problem. So, employment in India for my wife can be shown as a strong proof that she will be going back to India, after the visitor visa expires.

So, given the conditions, what are the chances of getting a visitor visa for my wife and daughter?

Thanks in Advance,
Sridhar.

We all cannot tell you the chances of getting the TRV for your wife and daughter. Your wife having a job does help increase the chances of getting TRV but not by much. Once you cross the threshold of marriage, odds of getting a TRV drops considerably no matter how hard you tried to prove ties to native country. All I can suggest is to apply for TRV for your wife and daughter and wait and see. Don't get your hopes up as I don't want you to get disappointed if it didn't turn out the way you want.

sridhar - search for the user "mikeymike" on this forum. He was able to get his wife a multi-entry TRV after he got married. And his wife is from a non-visa exempt country. He sent in a ton of strong evidence that his wife will not overstay (strong ties to home country, etc). You should use his application as a blueprint for what is needed for success.

The idea is not bad at all. but remember that when you first apply for PR did you declare your wife and child in the PR application? You better check very well so that you will not jeopardize your PR. If you applied in good faith you have no problem. This is just a head's up.

Sridhar.

honestly don't want to demotivate or disappoint you but having a job just doesn't help on it own you may need pay slips for minimum last 6 months to show it as a stable job

good luck

Here is another thread of a married Indian wife being able to get TRV. They listed some valuable tips on what documents they provided in order to convince CIC that the spouse will leave.
