Visitor visa for my brother

I and my wife are permanent resident of canada since a year now and want to invite my brother in law for our baby shower ceremony.

My brother is a student in India and have never visited any other country, what are the chances of him getting a visitor visa?

If I apply for his visitor visa, as a proof of Financial support what documents would I need as he is student in India and does not have any funds on his name. Can I show his father's funds? Or would it be better if I sponser his Financial expenses?

Not very good. A baby shower is not considered a good reason. Assume your brother doesn’t own property and is not married with children, doesn’t have travel history and doesn’t have his own savings. Your father will have to indicate he will sponsor his trip and provide his financial details.
