Hello,
I need your advice and help to apply for a visitor visa for my mother who would like to visit me in Canada. I'm an international student.
1) Should my mother apply for a family visit visa or a tourist visa?
2) If family visit, I have to provide a letter of invitation, is she mandatory to stay at my place? (the problem is that my studio is 1 and a half and I'm afraid it will be a problem for the iRCC that there is not enough room or the IRCC does not ask for a proof of the living space of my studio).
If I can't host her, do I write in the invitation letter that she'll be staying in a hotel? (on the financial side, my mother can take care of all her expenses).
3) If she's applying for a tourist visa, does it still make sense for her to visit me as part of her travel itinerary? (that way, it makes more sense for her to stay in a hotel). Besides, we're planning to go on a trip together to make the most of her visit.

Thank you very much for your help, it's been three years since I've seen my mother, so I want her to get the visa in one go.

1. Same thing. She applies for a visit visa (TRV).
2. No such thing as family visit visa. You can provide letter of invitation saying she is staying in a hotel and visiting you. No she doesn’t need to stay with you.
3. Include an itinerary of what she plans to do and where she will stay.

thank you so much
I have specified tourist visa or family visit visa because in the TRV application, it requested a precision of the type of TRV
