Visitor visa for friend in India

Hello friends,

I have a good friend of mine wants to visit Canada for month and half. I am Permanent Resident of Canada and have full time permanent job with well reputed company in Saskatchewan in Finance area. My friend is also Finance Manager with India based well reputed bank and has 7 years of experience. He is willing to settle down in Canada but wants to come here first and look for opportunities. Can someone please advise on my few questions ?

1. What documents both of us required to apply his visitor visa ?
2. What are the chances for visa approval ?
3. How long it takes to process visa ?
4. Are there any other options we can think upon for his Permanent Residency

The most important thing for him to show is that he has strong ties to his home country and has no plans on remaining in Canada long term. Having a full time job is usually a good tie. However a month and a half is a long trip and CIC may have concerns his job isn't that permanent if he can take a month and a half off without issue. Has he travelled extensively to other countires requiring visas?

Thank you, he has never travelled outside India, he is planning to take medical leave for a month from work, but I am not sure what is the best way I can get his visa approved and also does he require for IELTS if he is willing to stay in Canada permanently ?
