Visitor Visa for F1 Student in USA

Hi all,

I am planning on applying for a visitor visa to Canada. I am currently an international student on my F1 student visa and I am working on my OPT. I understand that I do need a visitor visa and I cannot usa a eTA for my visit.

1) I wanted to do a few weeks trip in the national parks in Canada after my OPT ended and I would like to know if I will be issued a visitor visa only until the end of my OPT, i.e the end date issued on my EAD Card/I-20? Or will I be issued a visa until the end of my passport?

2) On my I20, which I plan to submit as a supporting document, I do not have a signature from my International Student Advisor within the last 6 months, does this matter?

You will be issued a TRV for as long as CIC sees fit. This goes from 1 week to the end of your passport.

This is a USA immigration specific question. Try asking in your college/university.
