Visitor visa for dependent child inside Canada

Hello. We live in Canada. Me and my wife have work permit and my 3 year old son has visitor record. I want to apply for my son's visitor visa from inside Canada. However when I am trying to do it, applying for him and my wife's visitor visa together, my wife is getting 5257e form, which is for visitor visa but my son is getting 5708. 5708 is for visitor record, which he already has.

Is there an option to apply for his visitor visa from inside Canada?

Not possible to apply from Canada if he is not in Canada with status. You can act as representative from Canada.
