VISIT
Hi! I would like to visit Canada during my Au Pair program in Seattle. I currently have a valid J1 visa. I applied for a Canadian tourist visa and was denied for the following reasons:

• Your immigration status outside your country of nationality or habitual residence.
• The purpose of your visit to Canada is not consistent with a temporary stay given the details you have provided in your application.
• You have not submitted sufficient evidence of status in the U.S., such as a copy of your U.S. visa, entry stamp, copy of valid I-20/I-797/DS-2019. This evidence is required

Now I'm looking for help figuring out what documents I need to send in order for my visa to be accepted. Can someone help me?

Can you provide more info?
- what country are you from?
- are you already in the US or will you travel there in the future?
- if already in the US then how much time remaining on your work permit?
- how long a trip to Canada did you request?
- what did you show for proof of employment in the US?
- how much did you show in funds to support your trip?

What was the stated reason for travel to Canada? Do you have friends or family in Canada? Are you currently employed as an au pair?

Strange you should be able to apply for the visa from US, did you copy the US visa and the stamp because in the application guide they asked for that specifically.
How long did it take from you to get a response? My friend is visiting US in B1/B2 visa and planning to visit me during the holidays.
