How late can we apply for extension of the visitor visa? That is, can We apply 1 or 2 weeks Before expiry or it has to be at least 1 month before expiry?

You can apply 1-2 weeks before. Technically you can apply up to a day before. Just make sure the application reaches IRCC before status expires.

Do I have to apply for extension via the same IRCC portal through which I applied for visitor visa for my family initially or is it different?
