I am planning to extend my parents stay in Canada, they currently have a visitor visa. They have been visiting Canada for almost 2 years, and always return back home before the 6 month period. This would be the first time applying for extension. Could anyone please help me by answering my two questions :
1. The processing time on the Canada.ca website for Visa extension says : 204 days, now the 6 month period for my parents end in December 16, 2022. If the processing time is 204 days, that means they would have overstayed. What should I do then, buy them a ticket for December or wait for the application results. We don't want to have any negative impact on their travel records, as they frequently visit Canada to meet their grand-children, and don't want to be stopped next time at the boarder by an officer for their overstay.
2. Second question is: Will applying for an extension impact their file if we apply for a super-visa, or say Permanent Residency in the future.
I would appreciate any feedback/experience you have on this subject. Thank you in advance.
