Hi Guys,

A question on Visitor Visa Extension and implied status

Me (Sponsor) and partner (applicant) applied for PR through Common Law Family Class Sponsorship (OUTLAND). Our app has passed the Sponsorship Approval phase.
We applied outland but are actually staying in canada together. She is here on a visitor Visa.

Her visitor visa is expiring in October and we applied for an additional 6 months visitor extension for her a week ago.
I am wondering since the processing time says about 2 months, will she have "implied" status and be able to stay in Canada if her visitor visa extension application is still in process when her current visitor visa runs out in October?

She is from a visa exempt country by the way.

Thanks guys much appreciated as always!

yes, she is on implied status until she receives a response about the extension, so she can stay in canada until then even if it's past her current allowed time. if for some reason she is denied the extension (which is a very slim chance), then she will have to leave immediately. if she's approved, she has until that date to leave or apply for a new extension.
