visitor visa extension from inside canada

hi all
my sister is currently in Canada as a visitor ( 5 years multiple entries ) since June 30th 2022 and we want to extend her stay . we submitted an extension in September 2022 and have not heard back from ircc .
i have two questions :
1. is it OK if she remains in Canada past her visitor permit expiration until a decision is made? .
2. how many times can one apply for an extension of their stay as a visitor visa holder?

1. Yes.
2. As many times as you want. However obviously up to IRCC if they approve or not for each extension.
