Visitor Visa extension during sponsoring application

Hello, I just submitted sponsor package for my mother and she is actrually stay in Canada now as a visitor. Can I extend her stay for another 38 months as it is how long for sponsor processing takes. Thank you,

The 38 months is for the Mississauga process only, then there is the overseas processing. She can apply but I doubt very much that she is going to be allowed to remain for 5 years until her PR is issued.

Thanks for your reply. I also wondering if it is possible to apply for multi-entry visa for her. She doesn't need to be stay for 5 years, but at least she is flexbile to come and go.

Beside, I wonder if the reason of baby sitting would be considered to extend visitor status. You know the day care service in Canada is way short of supply.
