Need suggestion.
We applied for parents visitor visa in June 2022.biometric is done and updated in June itself.
Post that in dec 2022 they asked for my fathers work history since he was in police dept. He retired in 2018.
Since then status is we are reviewing additional documents you provided. There is no update post that.
We contacted local MP here in March 2023, per them everything is done and passed only final decision is pending but there is no time frame when we will be receiving same.
I ordered gcms notes in March 2023 thinking they may pick up our file and we will get final decision . I am expecting gcms notes next week but still there is no update on our application.
Currently I am seeing processing time of visitors visa from India is reduced to only 19 days.
Can you please suggest if we should wait on our existing application or should I withdraw that one and start fresh one?

Posted processing times are often not accurate and are just estimate of average processing times. The fact that your father was in the police was likely the reason for the delay. IRCC does seem to be processing TRVs much faster as of March and have loosened requirements for approval so I would assume you should hear soon. The fact that your father was in the police will likely always lead to longer than average processing especially if this is his first TRV.
