I have applied for a visitor's visa at the LA consulate, it's been little over a month since I applied and have not yet received my passport back. The one mistake I made was, I sent them Fed Ex prepaid envelope rather than the USPS mail. I did not know that the consulate only uses USPS to send mail back. On the website it clearly mentions that if the return envelope is not USPS, they will send back the documents via ordinary mail.
It's been 2 weeks that the consulate cashed my cashier's check that I sent along with my document. I contacted the consulate via email as that's the only way...(unless someone on this site knows a better way to contact the visa office), and got a standard return email saying it would take them 28 days to respond back if they think a response is viable.
Has anyone on this site experienced something similar?
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
