Visitor Visa at Detroit Consulate

I sent my application package on June 18th via USPS and it reached to consulate on June 21st. I don't here any thing so far on my VISA status. I sent couple of email but I received an auto reply. Can you please suggest to find the status?

I am also in same boat as you.
I have mailed my application to Detroit consulate and would wait for another week or so.
But my travel date is fast approaching on 24th Aug and would require passport and visa by then.
What are the options you are thinking.
I read some people walk in to the detroit consulate after mailing the application and have received it.
But I am not sure what those cases are for.

Let me know what step you are taking.It would help me.

I sent my Wife's application after 5 weeks of mine. She reveived it on last week. Total time took for her was 15 days. I am still waiting for my Passport. No clue what I have to do.

DO you plan to walk in to detriot consulate?
Would that help? Our travel date is 24th Aug and we need passport before that.I do not know what to do as of now.

I sent a mail to them with my passport details and asked for the status. They replied me that it was posted on July 24th in USPS priority email. I haven't received yet. I replied with the same message and asked for the solution. They said they will call me if it was returned.
