Dear All,

I want to apply visitor visa for my mother-in-law. I can give the letter of invite and everything... My question is

(a) Can I show proof of funds from my bank account in canada and I will take care of all the expenses. is that fine? Does my mother-in-law need to show bank balance in her account too in india. If so how much she needs to show?

(b) is visitor visa given for 3 years now?

Thanks

Also one more question...

Does the interview need to be only in english or can it be in regional language like kannada ?

If there is an interview, it will be either French or English Hindi or Punjabi. If your M/law speaks neither she will have to arrange for a certified interpreter from the list provided. See: http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/india-inde/visas/bulletins_9970.aspx?lang=eng&view=d

1. Yes. Not if you are covering expenses, but they may ask for her bank statement.
2. You can apply for multiple entry TRVs valid for up to 10 years or the validity of the passport.

Hi There,

Have you applied already? I am in a similar situation like you and want to apply for a visitor's visa for my parents and younger brother.

Let me know know how did your application go?
