Visitor Visa applied from USA : Passport return time From NY VAC office

Hello there can any one help me on that.

I have sent my passport to NY Vac office they received on 10th Dec

on 11th Dec : status " Transit to Visa office ". What it means of VAC to Visa office? is it separate office or Visa office is in Canada or LA ?

can any one tell me how much time it will take to return my passport ..
I have applied for Visitor visa .. And i got one email from CIC Visa type is PVT can any one give their remarks.

1. It means that the VAC sent it to the NY visa office.
2. Posted processing time is 52 days. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/temp/visitors.asp#west
