Hi, I applied for visitor visa for my MIL back in March 2020. Due to Covid-19 she wasn't able to get her biometrics done until October 2021. Her biometrics is updated in her profile on October 1 but there has been no update since. I contacted CIC about the application three times after that but I was told that they will let us know if they need more documents. Any advice on what my next step should be? Has anyone else experienced similar delay? My FIL applied for visa a month ago and he already received his passport request.

can anyone apply through the new portal (for tourism? or just if you have family members in Canada ?
What happens to this application and profile? When i reached out to them, they said if there are any additional documents or info. is required they would reach out but there was nothing about applying through the new portal. I'm just worried that the file doesn't get duplicated and further delay the process.
