Hi,
My friend will be applying for a tourist visa from Brazil to Canada. His father will be supporting him financially. The bank statement of his father (Last 3 months) has some deposits of 2000 Reais or 3000 Reais per month, His father has retired and the money is from the rents the tenants pay who live on his father's property. The bank balance is around 30000 Reais which is enough.

My friend is proving that his father is retired (His father is actually 70 year old and retired) and that his father cannot have an income tax. But if his father has no income tax, the problem is that his father cant prove from where those deposits of 2000 reais and 3000 reais come from as he has no contract with the tenants, his salary is less than 1000 reais.

My friend would like to put the documents of the contract with the tenants but he has no time to do it now. Will this affect the visa chances?

Reais = Brazilian currency

How old is your friend? If he's a grown adult and cannot show his own bank account, his own income, his own employment, except for his father's, then he has a very high chance of being refused.

My friend is showing his bank statement and he works for the Brazilian Government too. Alongwith it he is showing his father's accounts too as support. His father is signing the financial support letter.

Would like suggestions.

That's fine, but then he's also needs to show sufficient amounts in his bank statement, as well as his own income as well.

If for example, he only has $500 in his bank, but his dad has $10000, and the father is saying he will support his son, then the son will likely be refused. If the son has $4000, and the dad $10000, then that should be fine, the most important factor is your friend's financial assets.
