Hi,

I applied for my Sister's visitor visa back around 2014 and it got rejected twice, I lost the information why it was rejected. Now, my nephew ( my sister's only Son) is studying in 1st year in Canada at present and He has also got invitation letter from his university to invite his parents to Canada, but right now my nephew is staying with me at my house in Canada.

Can someone please advise if my nephew can sponsor visitor visa for his parents and if the past couple of rejections will have any consequences on his mother's ( my sister) visitor visa application ?

And How much fund my nephew need to show for his parents visitor visa application and what to mention for place of residence ?

Thank you very much

No such thing as sponsorship. Your nephew can invite his mother for a visit. Not sure why university needs to issue invitation letter. Your sister needs to show her own funds, travel history, ties to home country (job letter with approved leave) and reasons to travel. Her place of residence is where she lives. She must declare the past refusals.

Nephew cannot sponsor a visitor visa. He can provide an invitation letter which is well written and explained. I am not sure who is going to file your sisters forms but provide ample documents proving strong ties to Home country.

I recommend you write a sponsorship letter that your sister will be staying with you. Your sister has to prove ties to the home country and show she has adequate funds to support herself while in Canada.

I calculate the funds like below

(Room rate of a Hotel in your area x Number of days) + 50-70$ for Food Per Day + 2000$ misc

Thank you Kindly,

My Sister is housewife and She does not have any travel history outside her home country. Its my nephew who is wanting his mother to visit him here in Canada, but because there were refusals in past, there is confusion. Can my nephew invite his father to visit him as his father owns his business and ad his mother as co-applicant in father's application ?

Thank you vkmath for your response.

My Sister is housewife and not working, she also does not have any travel history but her husband is businessman. Is there a way to show strong ties to home country ? ..Can her husband become primary applicant with her as co-applicant ?

Thanks again.

Your nephew can invite his parents. His parents need to show their own ties to country, travel history, funds and reasons to travel. One parent may be approved and one may be refused. So if together, they can show joint funds. His mother still needs to show her own ties and travel history, if possible.

Hi, You can request old application information https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...rmation-privacy/requests-information-act.html
Most of the students invite their parents. As far as funds go, they need to show that they can cover the cost for their stay. many get their visa even though they are rejected earlier
