I am student visa holder in Canada, my wife holding visitor visa.

If my wife joint me on visitor visa, is it possible to convert visitor visa to student dependent within canada.

1. yes, if you hold a valid study permit, your spouse can apply for a study permit in Canada, but note she has to get an acceptance letter and you have to show funds to proof that you can pay the international fees, plus the additional living expenses.

My wife don't want to study, she want to joint me as my dependent .. if she come on valid vistitor visa and can she apply for the student dependent within Canada or she need to leave canada ???

There is no such thing as a "student dependent". She is a visitor.

Who can get a work permit as spouse or common-law partner of a student?
Your spouse or common-law partner may apply for an open work permit if you:

  • are a full-time student at a:
    • public post-secondary school, such as a college or university, or CEGEP in Quebec
    • private college-level school in Quebec or
    • Canadian private school that can legally award degrees under provincial law (for example, Bachelors, Masters or Doctorate degree) and
  • have a valid study permit.
How long is the open work permit valid for?
The work permit for your spouse or common-law partner is valid for the same period of time as your study permit.
