How does a DWI affect Canadian visa applications or sponsorship for a H1B worker who has a Canadian partner? Can anyone advise whether the visa would be rejected if it's a first offense and if there was no damage to private property?

A DUI makes you inadmissible to Canada.

If you have been convicted of driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs, you will probably be found criminally inadmissible to Canada

Here are some options:

It likely makes you inadmissible to Canada for five years since the completion of your sentence.

What was the BAC (blood alcohol level) recorded?

The fact it was a first offence, there was no damaged property and the individual has a Canadian partner has no impact.
