Hi everyone,
I am a Canadian and have been married to a French Citizen for 10 months now. We finally got our application in for Spousal sponsorship in this last December 2014. My husband has been here since September 2014 as it took a while for us to get our paperwork together. We have applied outland and the processing times for the first step ( approval of sponsor) have been bumped from 48 days to 85 days, so we know it it going to be a while before we hear from CIC.
March makes 6 months since he has been in Canada, we are trying to start a family so it's kind of important that he stay here a bit longer. The back and forth has been costly and we need a few months to of no costly travel expenses see as he hasn't been working these past 6 months. We are hoping to submit an extension application this week. Some questions I need help answered:
- Will the fact that we are married work against or for us in this extension application?
- Do I have to submit a letter as his guarantor showing I can fully support him financially, on top of his own bank statements?
- What else should we submit that will help this application?
Can anyone who has had a similar situation please share?
Many thanks
