visitor record with proof of compliance as condition (help needed)

hello everyone,

I went to Canada on March the first from my homeland Germany because I wanted to do a backpacking trip.
At the airport in Calgary the immigration officer attached a visitor record to my passport limiting my stay for the time of only one month.

I guess she did that because I had no creditcard with me and also no proof of my financial situation and it didn't help that I was really nervous for never being traveled alone before.

Anyway, one of the conditions on this visitor record states that I must furnish proof of compliance at the airport of Calgary but I didn't really know what this means and so I thought it would be enough to leave the country on the expiring date simply taking the return flight I booked.

But at some point I wasn't sure anymore if this document maybe must have been returned to the immigration service at the airport so I started a research on the internet but I couldn't really find something about this condition and what it really means.

I am now afraid that they won't let me ever come to Canada again and that I am red flagged or something and I really don't know what to do now except for getting a panic attack.

I hope someone can help me with this question,

thanks in advance :)

(P.S. i must apologize for some bad grammar mistakes or other mistakes I probably made in this post)

Not sure (other members with experience with visitor records might help you) but it does sound like you had to present your record when departing, but you do have proof that you departed on the date specified (entry stamp to another country) so I wouldn't worry that much ;)

thank you for your reply!

But unfortunately I got no stamp when I entered Germany because it isn't necessary I guess but maybe I got an electronic stamp? I have no idea! But thank you anyways!

hello again!

I called the Border Information Service and the employee on the phone told me that I should have turned it back in as I left.
So now I have to contact the Canadian Embassy in Vienna to send the visitor record to them.

I think that thread can be closed by now or maybe it may help people with the same question. Even though this was very clumsy of myself :-[

thank you anyway!
