Hello all

I am wondering if anyone can help me out with how to obtain a visitors record / PR record while staying in Canada. My wife got a visitors visa July 2014 and came to visit me in Canada, we got married and she is now a PR. My in-laws (Her parents) back home need proof of her staying in Canada from July 2014 to today for financial reasons. They are requested to submit an official Canadian government document stating her period of stay in Canada and current status.

Is there a way to get such a document through CIC or any other official Canadian office?

Thanks

You get a Visitors Record at the Port of Entry and typically only if CBSA decide to issue you one. There is no PR record. Your spouse has to rely on passport stamps showing her entry into Canada and hope her government accepts the lack of any other further stamps in particular entry stamps indicate she never travelled out of Canada after her initial entry. You can always send paperwork from the PR processing plus additional proof of residence in Canada such as a DL record, tax records, insurance, bank statements, CBSA entry./exit records etc. I doubt one document on its own is realistic or feasible from any Canadian government body as definitive proof that you were in Canada.
