Hi everyone,

First of all, I'd like to thank everyone here for all the valuable information. My husband and I found all our answers here while applying for his PR. :)
I have 2 questions:

1. My Australian husband and I (Canadian) traveled to the US by land and on our way back, the Canadian immigration officer told my husband that he will need to get a Visitor Record. We recently applied for his PR (inland) & OWP 2 months ago and are still waiting to hear back. He still has 3 more months on his visitor visa. Does anyone have any information about getting a Visitor Record?

2. As for the OWP, does anyone have any experience sending in the application with the PR application? How long did it take?

Thank you in advance!

1. generally, visitor records are given at the land borders so CBSA can track a person's stay or if the person needs to extend their current visit. Perhaps he was suggesting your husband will need to apply to extend his stay as a visitor? I believe the extension "visas" received by visa-exempt applicants are technically visitor's records. if he was allowed in, then he doesn't need to do anything until 1 month before his current stay will expire, unless he submits an application for the OWP prior to his current status ending. An OWP application gives someone implied status until a decision is made on that application.

2. it takes 4 months to receive the owp application when applied with the pr application.
