Visitor record medical request - applicant has already left the country

My dad applied for a visitor record this April, we didn’t hear anything back from IRCC at the time, and he left the country in June. I received his visitor record just today and it says he needs to complete a medical exam within 30 days.

How to deal with this? Do I send a webform to say my dad’s no longer in Canada? Does he need to complete the exam in my home country regardless? That might be a difficult because China still has ridiculous “zero covid” rules.

Did he stay past the expiry date of his visitor permit? Did he remain in the time that would have been the extension? If so, yes he needs to complete the medical. You should have informed IRCC as soon as he left Canada.

Yes, he remained for another month after his original allowed period expired. Thanks for answering, I already sent a webform to explain the situation and I’ll tell him to do the medical if possible.

If you parent took advance of any extra time in Canada while waiting for the answer to her extension request you usually have to do the medical.

Unfortunately no. Sent a webform to IRCC and never heard from them again. Maybe they think a visitor case that has already left the country isn't worth following up?
