Visitor Record and Manitoba Health Plan

Hi guys,

I have a question about Manitoba Health Plan for people with Visitor Record visa. Manitoba website says they are eligible if they have a spouse or a parent living together who have a study or work permit. My case is slightly different. I have a work permit, and my mother is on a visitor record, accompanying me because of my illness. Does my mom qualify for Manitoba Health Plan?

Does anyone have any experience similar to this? I don't know if Manitoba is just trying to say they need to accompany a family member who have the study or work permit, or it has to be a spouse or a parent.

Thanks for any advice!

No - she doesn't qualify. Only your dependents would qualify (spouse, minor children). Your mother isn't classified as a dependent.
