Hello everyone,

I came to Canada with a courtesy visa in 2007. In Canada, I change my status as a visitor, I have been applying for extensions since then, so far I have 5 extensions in total, I have not been not working nor studying because I have been prohibited for my status. Now, I am thinking to apply for a Permanent Resident, but I do not know in which category do I fit and also I'm not sure which option is better to apply inside Canada or outside.
I would really appreciate if you give a hand,
Thanks in advance.

There is no way you can apply as a permanent resident while on visitors visa, your best option would be to go back home and apply from there

Huh? There are no rules against applying for PR while being in Canada, even on a visitors visa, as long as you qualify under some immigration class.

There is however no guarantee that applying for PR will allow you to extend your visitors visa indefinitely so yes, you can apply but you still may be denied an extension and have to leave.
