Visitor from UK travelling to Canada in January 2011

Hi,
I previously visited my boyfriend in Canada for 5 weeks in September 2010 and returned home at the end of this time. I am flying back out to Canada in January and am hoping to stay for 4 and a half months to stay with him and visit other friends out there. My boyfriend is willing to support me whilst I am there and I have a return flight booked in May 2011. I will be leaving Canada then.
Is there any documentation I would need? obviously a copy of my savings as I will not be working, the address I will be staying at etc. But do I need proof of his job, income etc or a letter of invitation?
I was just wondering as I have entered the country previously and want to re-enter a few months later if there would be any problems?

It is always better to carry more information rather than finding the IO wants extra proof when you in secondary screening.

You need to bring proof that you will be returning to the UK, job, house details, rental agreement etc.
If you do not do so, your time could be restricted by the IO or in some circumstances refused entry. (not likely as you have already shown that you returned to the UK before, thus respecting the rules).

Read up on what it means to be a visitor to Canada, above all remember you are a visitor, you have no right to enter Canada, it is up to you to convince the IO you are visiting.

Thanks for your reply.

I understand the more information I give will make things easier. I may leave even before then as he works in Europe/ uk in the summer.
I know it depends on if they are satisfied that I have ties in the uk, I live with my parents so no rental agreement. They asked if I had a job last time which I confirmed when I entered Canada and obviously my family are all based in the uk. I have read what it means to be a visitor on the goverment website and have complied with that as I left last time and will be this time.

You could also carry details of any appointments that you must attend in the UK. hospital, doctor etc.
