Visitor extension

Asking for a friend.

She applied for study permit extension in march and she is graduating by august. Is it a better move to apply for visitor extension and wait for the SP to arrive or simply wait under implied status. She doesn't want to apply for PGWP under implied status because there is a high chance that within next 2 months her SP will be issued and see that many who applied for PGWP under implied status can't work until both permits are issued which can take a long time.

Also, is there anything like while applying for PGWP, the SP needs to be valid at least some time in the last 180 days before application?

I'm in the same situation. I am going to wait till the end of August, if I do not receive any updates, I will apply for the pgwp on implied status. I don't think she should apply for a visitor extension, she should just wait or apply for the pgwp straight. She should apply for the PGWP within 180 days of completion of her studies.

I am curious to know from a legal standpoint when an implied status for a study permit extension applicant ends- I know once they leave the country , there is no more implied status but what if that person is no longer studying- does the implied status carry forward during that period of time when that person is waiting because theoretically their wait time is unknown and (this happened) as an agent told me they can keep an application open as long as they want.
So for 1 or 2 months after graduation under implied status without applying for any permit sounds okay but what if the permit is not issued after 3 or 6 months? And if the processing times are right which they are not, the average wait time is 110+ days for visitor extension.

Moreover, Implied Status SP waiting is like having a visiting permit and applying for PGWP under implied status is also like having a visiting permit.

I'm not too sure (you should probably confirm this with an IRCC agent), but when you have a valid study permit, your status as a student expires 90 days after your course completion. So, I'm assuming the same applies to the implied status as well. So, as long as you submit an application before 90 days after course completion (even though you do have 180 days after), I think you should be fine.
