Visitor Extension to study an ESL course.

Hi All!,
I have a visitor status, when I arrived they gave me 6 months to stay in Canada. Now I want to apply for a extension of my visitor visa for 6 months more. I want to study an ESL course for 2 months and then I want to visit other cities of Canada. I created my CIC profile and now I am filling out the documents but I am a little bit confused with the IMM 5708. In section : Details of visit to Canada and there is this field "Purpose of my visit" and there are these options:
Business
Tourism
Short-term studies
Returning student
Returning worker
Super visa for Parents and grandparents
Other
Family Visit
Visit

Should I put Tourism or Short-term studies? Because I want to do the both options.

In the section: Name, address and relationship of any person or institution I will visit, I put the name of the school that I want to study. Is it ok?

Whatever is the main reason of your stay.

In the section: Name, address and relationship of any person or institution I will visit, I put the name of the school that I want to study. Is it ok?

If you write down "tourism" filling it up with this information wouldn't match up.

From what I have been told by a lawyer, you may not study in Canada while a visitor (without a proper study permit), even in the event that the studies are 'short-term' (less than six months). The clause on the CIC website that states that you may not require a study permit to engage in short-term studies (less 6 months) only applies within the first six months of your ENTRY into Canada (so, from what I understand, you are towards the end of that original period).

You may want to apply for a study permit instead. That way you would be covered. You can apply for a study permit for short term studies such as ESL programs. The school must be accredited, however. If you have not chosen the school and program you wish to attend, you may then find the list of all such accredited school and choose the one among them that you find best.

Hello everyone,
I came to Canada as a visitor in sept 2017 along with my wife and son.
My wife liked Canada and wants to study here. So i searched for colleges and found out a college in Montreal and took admission in one year program starting in feb 2018. Have applied for caq aswell.
Now my question is how to apply for study permit after caq is received. I read at cic website that we can convert visitor to study permit if pre requisite course is completed which is required for admission into actual course.
Please guide me with the next procedure.
My wife has done masters in technology computer science from India and has 7.5 bands in ielts with 6.5 in one module. She got admission in a relevant course.

Please guide me. I have around 25days to wait for caq. Till then i have to gather all the information.
