Hello, I applied for my extension in early march, and have not gotten any update since I applied what so ever. Is this normal? Should I have cause for concern

Also when I applied I ticked Extension of my temporary residency. Is this correct? I am from the US visiting Canada. All visitors even from visa exempt countries are called Temporary residents correct?
