Visitor Extension during processing period query

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone can give me a little help. I recently applied for inland permanent residency, application signed for March 5 2018. I also included an OWP. My application for a visitor extension was received February 28th 2018; my current work permit expires at the start of April so I wanted to make sure I still had status should the application be sent back unprocessed. I have just noticed they updated a few of the forms and I believe my application will be returned unprocessed because a few of the forms may be out of date, which I’m not too stressed out about because I can just refill the forms and send them back in immediately within a day or so of receiving the unprocessed documents.

My question is if the forms are returned before I hear back about the visitor extension and my work permit has expired, does this mean my status is illegal or will I be grand until they make a decision about the visitor extension? I want to make sure everything is above board and my status is 100% legal throughout the process. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for reading this message.

You did the right thing applying for visitor status.

You now have implied status (as a visitor) until you get a decision on your visitor application.

Whether your app is returned or not won't make a difference..you have covered yourself with the visitor application.
