Hi,
My boyfriend had applied for visitor extension and received the refusal letter yesterday and left the country this afternoon. He booked the flight in February, so I thought it wouldn't cause any problems even in May when he returns to Canada. But I'm now seeing all those "check in with an immigration officer" before leaving the country, otherwise he has to apply for ARC or something like that. Was he supposed to see an officer before he left? He will bring all his boarding passes back to Canada just in case they ask for proof. Do you see any problems? The letter did not mention anything about that.
Thanks a lot.
+ The letter advised him to leave the day the letter was sent, which I found weird, so to be specific he did overstay for half a day. Also, when he comes back he will have a study permit that will be valid starting September. He is also bringing proof for financial stability for the 4 month (May-Aug) before school starts. Any foreseeable problems here?
