Hi all,

Just looking for some advice. Is it wise to tell CBSA, if asked who I’m staying with on my two week vacation, that it’ll be my boyfriend? I’m concerned it will open me up to further questioning but also at the same time I don’t want to lie and say friend.

Bringing with me as much proof as I can to prove to them I don’t intend to stay or work illegally (payslips from work, proof of vacation from work, letter from NHS saying I’m undergoing gender transition with their services).

Does anyone have any advice?

Thanks

If they ask you, you must tell the truth. I imagine you are visa-exempt since you mention NHS, and are mostly concerned about arrival at the airport.

Some of the time the CBSA won't dive deep into questions. If they ask you who you are staying with, you can say your boyfriend, but they may not ask you. Your proof will assist but you don't need to volunteer things up front unless they ask.
