Visiting wife while outland, need to update address?

Hello,

Our BGC has been in progress for almost 2 months now so I think we should get PPR soon. I'm planning to visit my wife for 1 month and I think I might get PPR while I'm there. I'm not from a visa exempt country but I have a multiple entry visa.

Should I contact the VO so they can update my address since I will be visiting my wife and there is a high chance I get ppr within that month? If I get ppr while I'm there, I will just finish the process there.

I will be sending my passport from Canada, so I assume my current address on file needs to match with the address the passport is being sent from and will be received.

So question is, should I update my address the day I get to Canada and then re-update it when I go back home or there won't be any issue if I update my address right when I get PPR?

I would not update the address for just a month. It takes a while for the CIC bureaucracy to get everything changed, so I would worry that my passport would end up going to the wrong address. Is there someone at your permanent address who could get any letters? In any case, CIC might use email to contact you.

Yes, it's my parents house. So what if I get PPR while visiting her? Not a problem if I send my passport to the visa office from Canada?
