Visiting visa extention for multiple entry visiting visa holder

My mother is here with me in canda.She came on her 10 yr multiple entry visiting visa. She needs to stay for one month extra (so total 7 months in a row). She really need to apply for an extention ? or she just stay for one month extra and go back.

Apply for the extension. She really doesn't want CBSA to pick up that she overstayed on a previous visit next time she comes.
