Hi everyone,

My girlfriend lives in Michigan, US, and I plan on visiting her. However, I have yet to receive my PR card. I have my CoPR, passport etc, but just wondered if this is enough to come back into Canada by land at a border crossing in my own vehicle?
I would only be in the US for a few days, so can't really apply for a permanent resident travel document. I also see that the CIC website only requires PRTD if traveling into Canada by a commercial vehicle.

Any help would be much appreciated

If you drive, then you don't need PRTD.

You will definitely need a US visa.

If they need a visa depends on their country of citizenship.

What will I need though?

Thanks for the quick reply

Simply bring your passport and your CoPR. In the worst case you will have to park your car for like 10 minutes while they verify in the system that you are a PR. In the more likely case they will just wave you through.

Thank you so much, makes things a little easier!
