Hi All,
First-time poster here.
I've recently moved from the UK to Canada (BC) with a 2-year work permit, and have a permanent residency application open.
My employer here has asked if I can take a trip down to California for a few days in April for a supplier meeting, which I'm happy to do but am concerned it might be a bit complicated to get back in to Canada afterwards.
CIC's website seems to suggest that it shouldn't be a problem, though their information appears to contradict itself somewhat (eg. you will need an ETA as well as your work permit, but if you have a recent work permit you automatically have an ETA)
Has anybody else been in this situation? Were you able to get in and out of Canada without issue?
All being well my permanent residency status will be approved before this becomes an issue (CIC are currently showing processing times of 41 days for new applications) so I will hopefully receive mine in the next few weeks, but I just want to be prepared should there be any problems with that.
Cheers
Scott
