When we fill out residence calculator, how should we declare trips made from a country outside Canada. For example, in 2011, from Canada I went to China for 1 month. And in this one month, I traveled to Mongolia for tourism. Then do I need to list my time in Mongolia, or I just have to declare the overall time in China? I went back to Canada from China.

The calculator will not let me input duplicated data (In China from June-July and at the same time in Mongolia in June). The absence time from Canada will still be the same, I just wonder if I will have any problem because I couldn't list all the countries I visited.

Are you determining the residence calculator based on meeting PR RO for 5 year renewal?

I applied for citizenship. I mean they are concerned about the time spent outside the country, or they will go into deep details what I did and where I went to from countries outside Canada?

I wouldn't worry about it as once you land, you can qualify for citizenship 4 years after you land. Thus time in China and Mongolia won't count as by the time you qualify for citizenship, time in China and Mongolia would be outside your 6 year PR time for citizenship qualification.

No, it was during the time I was a PR.

I see. I thought you said in previous posts before that you are Canadian yourself and sponsoring a Thai wife. Obviously I was mistaken.

As for your question, did you fly into China and flew back to Canada from Mongolia? Or did you fly back and forth through China, even though you went to Mongolia in middle of China trip?

*edit
Never mind. You only need to record the time out of Canada with China as the country. You don't even need to record the Mongolia trip at all since you entered and exit China. They are only interested in your absence outside Canada. What happens while outside Canada, they don't care. They are only interested in when you left Canada and when you entered Canada.

Fly from Canada to China and back to Canada from China. When they want trips outside of Canada, it's China trip that has passport stamps. Thanks

Thanks. But, should I still clarify this with CIC at the citizenship interview?

If they ask about it, yes. Otherwise don't volunteer more info than they need.
