Visiting gulf countries - do Canadian citizens require visa !

Dear friends,


Is it true that any Canadian citizen who wants to visit uae,Saudi or Qatar should get a visa before travelling. If so, why is it that gulf states look bit harsh on Canadian citizens. How about American and other European citizens, so they also require visa to visit any of these countries.

For UAE,Qatar,Kuwait,Oman no visa is required for visit purposes, as Canadian you get visa stamp free of charge when you arrive at any airport for these four countries I mentioned but for work purposes you need a visa and sponser like any other nationality which includes other westerners. As for Saudi you always need prior visa and sponser whether for visit or work.However if you visit the four countries I mentioned you need a return ticket and 6 months passport validity to be allowed entry as a visitor.
