Hi guys, I am new to this forum, in fact I just joined today.
I have been browsing the forum to obtain answers to some of my questions but I still need some clarifications regarding the supporting documents. So this is my situation. I am currently an international student in Australia. My hometown is in Viet Nam. I have a girlfriend who is an international student in Canada, in Burnaby, British Columbia. I am planning to visit her during my winter break; this will be for around 20 - 30 days. Since Im a study, Im quite tight on budget. We agree that I will take care of flight tickets and my girlfriend will provide me accommodation and other needs during my stay in Canada. I did the questionnaire online and got my personal checklist. It requires a bunch of supporting documents and I'm not clear on how to obtain these:
1/ Letter of support: I am financially support by my dad to study in Australia. But do I really need to include this since its not relevant to my visit to Canada. All money spent on this trip will be earned by me, not supported by my parents
2/ Itinerary: Should I book my flight now, to ensure an acceptance. Or wait for it later
3/ The purpose of travel: Will a casual invitation email from my gf suffice in this case?
4/ Proof of relationship: I'm not sure what kind of document can prove our relationship. Will emails between each of us do?
5/ Employment Letter: I'm not even sure why I need this document in my checklist since I'm not working in Canada. I dont know why it shows up
6/ Invitation letter: Is this and the purpose of travel document related somehow?
7/ Proof of financial resource of supporter: Again, I'm doing this trip on my own. Do I really need to have this. Or can I put my bank statement instead. And how much money is suffice for the bank statement
8/ Proof of income: Is this necessary?
9/ Proof of mean of financial support: I guess my bank statement will suffice, but how much will be sufficient for my stay in Canada? Again, I'm tight on budget
10/ How long will it take for the application to be accepted
That's about it. If someone is kind enough to answer this it will be very appreciated. I thank you in advance.
