Hi guys, I am new to this forum, in fact I just joined today.

I have been browsing the forum to obtain answers to some of my questions but I still need some clarifications regarding the supporting documents. So this is my situation. I am currently an international student in Australia. My hometown is in Viet Nam. I have a girlfriend who is an international student in Canada, in Burnaby, British Columbia. I am planning to visit her during my winter break; this will be for around 20 - 30 days. Since Im a study, Im quite tight on budget. We agree that I will take care of flight tickets and my girlfriend will provide me accommodation and other needs during my stay in Canada. I did the questionnaire online and got my personal checklist. It requires a bunch of supporting documents and I'm not clear on how to obtain these:

1/ Letter of support: I am financially support by my dad to study in Australia. But do I really need to include this since its not relevant to my visit to Canada. All money spent on this trip will be earned by me, not supported by my parents
2/ Itinerary: Should I book my flight now, to ensure an acceptance. Or wait for it later
3/ The purpose of travel: Will a casual invitation email from my gf suffice in this case?
4/ Proof of relationship: I'm not sure what kind of document can prove our relationship. Will emails between each of us do?
5/ Employment Letter: I'm not even sure why I need this document in my checklist since I'm not working in Canada. I dont know why it shows up
6/ Invitation letter: Is this and the purpose of travel document related somehow?
7/ Proof of financial resource of supporter: Again, I'm doing this trip on my own. Do I really need to have this. Or can I put my bank statement instead. And how much money is suffice for the bank statement
8/ Proof of income: Is this necessary?
9/ Proof of mean of financial support: I guess my bank statement will suffice, but how much will be sufficient for my stay in Canada? Again, I'm tight on budget
10/ How long will it take for the application to be accepted

That's about it. If someone is kind enough to answer this it will be very appreciated. I thank you in advance.

1/ Letter of support: From your girl friend who is inviting you.
2/ Itinerary: Should I book my flight now, to ensure an acceptance. Or wait for it later: You can make a travel plan. Suppose if you buy the ticket and if case visa not sanctioned you will loose lot of money.
3/ The purpose of travel: Will a casual invitation email from my gf suffice in this case?
She should invite and should mention that she will be responsible for your accommodation, food and transportation.
4/ Proof of relationship: I'm not sure what kind of document can prove our relationship. Will emails between each of us do? : E mails and some photographs taken together.
5/ Employment Letter: Not applicable for you.
6/ Invitation letter: Invitation from your gf to vist her and spend some days with her in Canada. She should provide her identity proof and residential proof and address proof.
7/ Proof of financial resource of supporter: Provide your bank statement with what ever amount you have.
8/ Proof of income: Is this necessary? You can mention about your job or business in your country of residence. If employed , certificate of employment.
9/ Proof of mean of financial support: I guess my bank statement will suffice, but how much will be sufficient for my stay in Canada? Again, I'm tight on budget. Yes. You may need to take a travel medical insurance for the period you are planning to say in Canada
10/ How long will it take for the application to be accepted - Within a week or two depending on your country where you apply.

I want to send an invitation letter for my boyfriend coming to visit me as well do you think it is necessary to provide proof of the relationship? I have gone to visit him 3 times and we have been together for 1.5 years.

Some country specific checklists ask for proof of relationship, others do not. If the checklist for your boyfriend's country of origin does not ask for it, you may omit. But if you wanted to provide it anyway, it wouldn't hurt.
