My (USA) outland sponsorship is moving along as I just recently got a biometrics request. I have a question about a possible scenario I may run into. My wife’s friend will be getting married in September in Canada. If I somehow get my COPR in August, would I still be able to travel to Canada as a visitor without officially landing? Or is it once I get my COPR the next time I go to Canada is considered as me moving there?

1. Assuming you don't require a TRV to enter Canada, should be no problem, if asked, tell the CBSA officer your intention is to visit and will be "landing" at a later date.
