Hello,
I will be flying to visit my boyfriend in B.C. for the third time this coming July, but this time will be longer than the previous two visits. My first visit was for 8 days in December-January of 2013/2014, the second visit was 17 days in July 2014. This time it will be for 22 days. Would these three visits semi-close to each other be suspicious at all?
I was pulled aside on my first visit, when I stated I would be visiting a "friend." I had not met him in person at that point, and he wasn't yet my boyfriend either. They took my phone, looked through my bag, and asked me questions. They let me go through with the whole ordeal lasting about 45 minutes. I had no issues on my second visit, when I had said I would be visiting my boyfriend.
Now I know I might be over-worrying about things, but I've seen some people say it's best not to mention you are visiting a boyfriend/girlfriend. Is this actually true?
I do not have a job, but I am a college student enrolled for the fall semester. I will make note that I have a return flight, as I did the previous two trips. I will be able to bring enough money to support myself, though I will be staying with my boyfriend at his parents' house and we will be splitting any expenses anyway. Should I bring proof of my school enrollment/anything else?
Although it might not be relevant at this time, the reason I'm suddenly a little more aware of crossing the border is because my boyfriend and I have begun coming up with ideas and plans to live together there in B.C. after I finish school in a couple of years. We will try to live together for a year in 6-month intervals so we can apply for common-law sponsorship. Of course I wouldn't mention these future plans to any border personnel, but I thought it would be worth talking here about my thoughts behind these visits and joining this forum.
Sorry this is a bit long-winded, but if anyone has some advice to offer, I would really appreciate it!
