Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
Hi experts,

Just seeking some important advice, will be much appreciated if you can help me out.
I am visiting Canada as a tourist and I do quite like it here. I am a computer technician with experience, but this skill is not required at this stage as per the CIC website, so clearly cant apply for Express entry.

I was wondering what are my options and possibilities to stay legally in this country? These are the few questions I have in mind.

a) Is it easy to find a job while I'm in Canada as oppose to applying one living overseas?
b) Even though my skill is not listed on the CIC website, if I do get a Job offer in computer field would I be able to apply for work permit and eventually get PR?
c) Do I have to have job related to my qualification to be able to obtain work permit or I can get it through different field as long as the employer is willing to sponser me?

Any help from here would be great!

Thanks

1) It's typically extremely difficult. In order to hire you, the employer has to obtain something called an approved LMIA. This is a long and expensive process for the employer with no guarantee of success at the end. As part of the process, the employer must advertise the job for at least a month to prove no Canadian could be found for the role. They then have to pay a $1K fee and typically wait 2-4 months to see if the LMIA will be approved. Most employers aren't willing to go through the process.
2) There's no occupation list for immigration. Obtaining a job offer isn't enough to apply for a work permit - you employer also needs to obtain an approved LMIA. Having a skilled job in Canada will certainly make it easier to qualify for PR.
3) It doesn't have to be a job related to your field. However if it's too far away from your field of work and education, it's possible CIC may refuse the work permit.

Just to add - you have some fundamental misunderstandings about the Express Entry process. Again, there is no occupation or skill list. Provided you have at least one year of full time paid job experience in a NOC A, B or 0 occupation - you qualify.

I would recommend you spend additional time on the CIC web site researching and understanding the EE program and how to qualify.
